DEV 6 TAMIL JUNE CAST & CREW
Production: Ammer Productions Cast: Rajinikanth Direction: Sankar Screenplay: Sekar Story: Sekar Music: Sekar Background score: Sekar

Prepare your voice boxes for some serious damage - the Avengers are here. And this time, it's bigger than ever. Not just the film, but also the size of the team, and the looming hype that the number might reduce drastically has made it the biggest instalment of the franchise yet. Avengers: Infinity War, considered to be the most ambitious crossover in history, brings together heroes in a surreal fight for the universe (as usual) with the most powerful villain of Marvel - Thanos.

With each Marvel movie, the question of just how much bigger the next movie can get becomes more important, because too much of a thing often makes it sour. Infinity War has dealt with this challenge superbly: if everyone is a superhero, no one quite is, and that removes the idea of infallibility and brings in a whole new wave of emotion that comes with vulnerability - like in Nolan's Batman trilogy.

But there's no time to mourn the fallen, the film packs up and moves on pushing you forward with a surge of adrenaline. Imagine a video game on steroids, and you come close to getting the picture.

Thanos is a mighty villain so marvellously charismatic that the writers must have feared would pull fans away from their favourite superheroes. His sidekick "children" too, are pretty darn cool..

Jam-packing these many superheroes in a film is a dizzying task - and the film has neat arcs for almost all of them, including the franchise-less Hulk. Fantastic. And they are all connected not just because they are in a film together, as the plot has profound connections in between them fitted neatly in the story.

Black Panther brought a glimmer of hope to the kind of music their films could offer, but Infinity War's music is not noteworthy, to say the least. A few parts of the plot do seem conveniently written to push it forward, but they are nothing unforgivable.

DEV 6 TAMIL JUNE SONGS REVIEW

Review by : Behindwoods Review Board, Sakthi Test Album Release Date : May 02,2018

Yaar Ivan
Lyrics: Kaber Vasuki
Singer: Kaber Vasuki

A looming feeling of dread and ominousness spreads as we venture into Yaar Ivan - a trance song like treatment by Yuvan, along with Kaber's lyrics and singing, adds mystery. One might feel that Yuvan could have experimented just a tad more and made the tunes more intriguing. A good listen, nonetheless.

Azhagae
Lyrics: Vivek
Singers: Arun Kamath, Jonita Gandhi

A trademark Yuvan melody awaits us in Azhagae, as we are pulled into the slow beats and a pleasant musicality we have come to love him for. The tunes seem to set up a steamy romance between Vishal and Samantha, and with Arun and Jonita's smooth rendition, Azhagae will be a treat for Yuvan fans.

Athiradi
Lyrics: Vivek
Singer: Naveen

Athiradi packs a punch - evidently made to establish the authority, power, and machismo of Vishal as a bold Army officer. The interlude of marching band music is unexpectedly fresh, reminding us of the famous scene from the Hollywood masterpiece Full Metal Jacket. Kudos to Yuvan!

Angry Bird
Lyrics: Vignesh Shivn
Singer: Jithin Raj

Director Vignesh Shivn's unique sense of comedy is the biggest strength of Angry Bird as he explains the effect of Sam's character on Vishal's with quirky comparisons like Sandakozhi-broiler kozhi, Dhoni-Dravid, Anniyan-Ambi and so on! Musically, the song could've been much more trendy and addictive, complementing the lyrics.

Mudhal Murai
Lyrics: Vivek
Singer: Jithin Raj

Mudhal Murai is a good, casual listen in which there is a Nadhaswaram portion - by Thirumurthy - which sticks in our mind for a good while after we finish the song. Jithin does justice to the tunes of Yuvan.

Verdict: Nice
